Almost every single wall of the lower level came down to create a completely altered floor plan AND to create that indoor-outdoor flow. The removal of walls and installation of beams maximized every opportunity for these Owners to gain open plan family areas whilst still feeling warm and inviting. The cave like rooms are gone and enabled a master retreat, with ensuite, walk in wardrobe and lounge area. The introduction of industrial colours, matt finishes and minimalism all works cohesively with the warmth of the timber floor. The window that acts as a splashback gives that feeling of vastness in the kitchen, whilst the new bi-fold doors allow the beauty of the sunrays to pour into the room. This was definitely a journey worth taking and as the saying goes “what was an ugly duckling is now a beautiful swan”.
